7. Acts 7:1-60 Bringing The Heat

Stephen who was full of God's grace and power finds himself before the high council. He's prepared to give a full account of God's works over each generation. He boldly calls these priests out who also know scripture, but missed Jesus. They were too distracted with their power, status, and what people would think of them. Who do you identify with in this scenario? Are you more concerned with the approval of men or Jesus? Do you read scripture to look good or do you read it to know who Jesus is?

"This is what the Lord says: 'Heaven is My throne and the earth is My footstool for My feet. Where then is a house you could build for Me? And where is a place that I may rest? For My hand made all these things, So all these things came into being,' declares the Lord. 'But I will look to this one, At one who is humble and contrite in spirit, and who trembles at my word.'"
