Restoring the Kingdom

Jan 10, 2021    Matt Flores

The church is a called-out, assembly of God's people. The church exists to expand the Kingdom of God through trust and obedience. It's not just a physical building where people gather to hear a weekly sermon. It's a way to be connected with Christ, to be near to Him. As God's people, we are to go out into the world- this could be a friend, family member, neighbor, or even stranger. We should never become too comfortable with where we are in our faith. When was the last time you were challenged to share your faith with others? How has Jesus Christ made a difference in your life? When was the last time your soul sat with the Savior? When we are in line with God's teaching, it's a starting point to go out and be the church. Jesus gives us the perfect example in the New Testament of what it looks like to be the church. He knows exactly what we need to do the same, and we are fully equipped because of His great love for us!

"You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and Samaria, and as far as the remotest part of the earth. And after He had said these things, He was lifted up while they were watching, and a cloud took him up, out of their sight. And as they were gazing intently into the sky while He was going, then behold, two men in white clothing stood beside them, and they said, "Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven."
Acts 1: 8-11
